Free Guitar Sheet MusicNext was my search for some free guitar sheet music, so I could have a reference to work along with my free lessons. I found lots of sites offering the best of everything, but in the end they all wanted me to sign up after teasing me with a part of a song.
Guitar TabsI was talking with a couple friends in a restaurant about learning the guitar and one mentioned he knew how to play. He was working away from home and practically lived on Chordie. What's that? I asked "It's a site where you can get almost any song. People go there and post guitar tabs and lyrics". I was checking it out within an hour. Turns out to also be one of my most important finds. Since then I found out about Ultimate Guitar, but I still prefer - Chordie. Remember though, it is other guitarists posting and may not always be accurate.
You Tube Guitar GurusThe next best place to get free guitar sheet music and tabs is the you tube guitar guru. The guys with the lessons. You still have to systematically weed out the good lessons from the bad ones, but you will know when the teacher knows his stuff. The good ones, like Marty at Guitar Jamz (who by the way, is in my opinion so far, the best all round teacher I've found on you tube) will walk you through their lessons so well, you won't even need sheet music. There are other great teachers, but they only give you a taste, then they want you to sign up for the rest of the lesson. If you can watch their fingers, pause and rewind the video, you might finish the song. That's how I learned some Doors tunes. (Thanks Neil) Remember, if you accompany their lessons with a little Chordie you can progress at the speed of light.
