A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Toilet

The toilet was plugged and I had repeatedly thought I had fixed it.

I plunged it, poured drano in it. Tried cleaning it with a coathanger and swore at it.

It was going to take more action to outwit this toilet.

I couldn't figure out why my methods of toilet repair were not working.

Not until I actually removed the toilet and turned it upside down and found out that one of our young kids had thrown a bar of soap into the toilet.

It was lodged in the throat, at the bend. Anything I tried wouldn't dislodge it. It would work as a flap, opening when I plunged it. ( making me think it was unplugged )

Then closing and gather toilet paper with use.

This went on for some time, frustrating me to no end.

There was no internet information back then, so I had to research the best I could through hardware stores.

I finally got up the courage to remove the toilet. It took, may be an hour from start to finish. ( Removing and replacing a toilet is actually a pretty easy thing to do, once you know how ).

The repair was cheap and easy, there was no plumber involved and it cost less that 5 bucks for a wax ring. I should have started with the removal process.

Over the years I've realized a little information and will, can save time, frustration and money. Since I've had to remove and replace many toilets, and learned to Just Do It"
